The "ACSPRI Social Science Methodology Conference" was held from December 10-13, 2006, in Sydney, Australia.

The conference was convened by Associate Professor Ken Reed, Deakin University on behalf of the Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Inc. (ACSPRI – see www.acspri.org.au). The conference organisation was undertaken by Judy Heath and Catherine Hennessy. Sam Schmidt prepared the master for this publication.

The conference had approximately 240 participants, who presented over 160 papers. The institutions represented at the conference are listed below.

There were two plenary meetings, with invited speakers: Professor Michael Greenacre (Department of Economics and Business, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain) and Professor Merrill Shanks (Department of Political Science, UC Berkeley, USA).

The papers presented at the conference are included in this publication in one of three forms:

1. an abstract
2. a full, work-in-progress paper
3. a full peer-reviewed paper, reviewed anonymously by two or more reviewers.
